SACP EC on King Dalindyebo and the DA 16 July 2013 We the, South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Eastern Cape Province note the decision taken by the King of the Abathembu nation, King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo to join the Democratic Alliance (DA). The decision taken by the King to break ranks with the people`s camp in our view is so unfortunate. The decision by the Thembu King, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo once more proves that no matter how good and heroic our parents can be it does not follow that children will be the same. All of us have to work hard and earn respect from society through hard work and respect for others. The decision by the King needs to be understood in the context of a king in conflict with the law as he faces possible fifteen (15) year jail term. As under President Jacob Zuma administration there is no one above the law. The marriage between the DA and the King of Abathembu is a actually a marriage of desperate parties; the King desperate to escape a jail term and the DA desperate to gain black votes as the only basis for them to continue enjoying and protect the benefits for the rich as the Shopstewards of the bourgeoisie. We urge the democratic forces not to expect King Sabatha Dalindyebo out of Buyelekhaya for all his life (Buyelekhaya) he has never strived to be one through exemplary leadership and conduct. We have every confidence in the Abathembu nation; they will never be misled to believe that the DA can ever represent the interests of the black majority. A wolf in a sheep skin will always be a wolf. In the name of King Sabatha Dalindyebo, Nelson Mandela, Chris Hani and other true leaders of our people; let us refuse to sell out by joining DA. Our souls as black people are not for sale; we are not for sale. Let us use our energies to build on the achievements of the African National Congress (ANC) led government and attend to undeniable challenges of unemployment, inequality, poverty and rooting out corruption.
