SACP Gauteng Press Statement For immediate release, 20TH JULY 2013 SACP GAUTENG SHOCKED AND SADDENED BY THE TRAGIC DEATH OF ITS FORMER PROVINCIAL CHAIRPERSON, COMRADE NKOSIPHENDULE KOLISILE SACP Gauteng Province is shocked and saddened by the tragic death of its former Provincial Chairperson, comrade Nkosiphendule Kolisilewho died in a car accident in the early hours of this morning. As a communist inspired by principles of human solidarity, he died on his way to the Eastern Cape Province to support comrade Boyce Maneli, the recently elected ANC Deputy Provincial Secretary who lost his father. As a gallant fighter and martyr of our revolution, his untimely death is a great loss to the entire membership of the SACP, the ANC led Alliance and the revolutionary working class movement here in our country and the world. Comrade Kolisile is a product of the SACP who joined it at an earlyage when he was employed in the mining sector and was a leader and activis of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) . He served the SACP to the best of his ability when he worked at its Head Office’s Membership Division. He was appointed by the SACP Central Committee following the 11th National Congress to serve on the National Steering Committee that re-launched the Young Communist League of SA (YCL, SA) in 2003 and was subsequently elected to serve on its first National Committee. SACP and the entire working class movement in our country will remember comrade Kolisile for his leadership role and being a source of inspiration for the working class in our country and the province. During his term as the District Secretary of the Yusuf Dadoo District,he together with his collective delivered the people of Merafong back to Gauteng as a province of their choice. At the time of his death, comrade Kolisile was deployed as an MEC of Economic Development in Gauteng Province, responsible for the biggest economy in the continent and our country. He was recently elected as the Deputy Regional Chairperson of the ANC in the Westrand. Comrade Kolisile dedicated his entire life to the cause of Marxism-Leninism and the working class movement as a whole. We wish to convey our sincere and deepest condolences to his family,his wife and children. May his soul rest in peace.
