SAD ! ----------- Received the news that our senior black belt , Sensei Manivel , fifth dan tragically killed himself by hanging after a domestic dispute . Its the second suicide by hanging of a seasoned martial artist in the last two years . ( Hari being the other . Both my students .Five other black belt students of mine have killed themselves in the last 38 years . Very disturbing . Its sad that none approached me for any counselling . Mani was a very friendly , no controversy karate teacher who had trained many a student at high command , stella Maris college and the Shastri nagar dojo . I personally trained him,conducted his wedding , blessed his child and personally counselled him on many issues he came to me with . He lost touch with me in the last three years . While I really wish to get to the bottom of such suicides by karate experts and effect corrective measures .... This death of sensei Manivel truly makes me sad . On my way to his funeral .
