SAD STORY ON MAHACHI By Chipo Sabeta WINGER Kudakwashe Mahachi is recuperating after undergoing a knee surgery. He will now now miss the opportunity to undergo trials at Monaco In France. Mahachi suffered the injury when he clashed with teammates Peter Moyo in their 1-0 win against Harare City at Barbourfields Stadium. Despite assurances that the injury could be cured through rest, Mahachi discomfort continued and the solution was to go under the knife. Mahachi underwent knee surgery in Bulawayo Central Hospital and is set to be sidelined for about six weeks to recover. “My right knee was operated on Saturday. It has been swelling for more than a week after a clash with Rio and we opted for an operation. The operation was supposed to be done in South Africa but doctors at my club Mamelodi Sundows were said to have for a break. The preseason begins on June 20 and they will only be available month end. That’s why I opted to have it here and everything went on well. I am not waiting for my recovery. They said it must take me six weeks to heel and Mahachi had hit a purple patch in his career both at National Level and club and he was set to go for trial in France this month. “My visa for France was valid from June 3 to July 3 and this means it will expire before i heal. Its a blown opportunity for me and i am hurt. “God allows things to happen. I have accepted my situation and will relax whilst recovering. “It’s part of football. I will be ok. Things have gone very well following the operation.I have plenty of optimism right now and a great desire to keep getting better.
