SAFE RUNNER Turns your phone into your own personal tracking app - TopicsExpress

SAFE RUNNER Turns your phone into your own personal tracking app for running, walking or pushing the pram ALONG WITH INBUILT SECURITY. For less than half a cup of coffee you could be heading out the door in the early morning or evening with the added security of Safe Runner. There is nothing like it on the market which is why I had it developed. Simply plug in your headphones, nominate your emergency contact, select your exercise type and start. Safe Runner will track your distance, calories burnt and if required will automatically notify your emergency contact that assistance is needed with your GPS location and video footage. This is my first app that I’ve developed but as a mum of two young children I find it difficult to fit in exercise with our family commitments. In an ideal world in the winter months I could exercise in daylight but unfortunately that’s just not realistic. I can be running or walking out the door just before 6am when it’s still dark. I remember one morning last winter I went running at 5am and it was so dark I felt terrified the whole time and swore I’d never do it that early again. It was on these morning runs or walks when I would have my iphone in an armband with earphones for music that I wished there was something on the market that would track where I was and raise an alarm to my husband if needed. Everything I thought of would mean having to actually stop and open an app to raise the alarm, very similar to actually just dialling their phone number. Obviously if I was in an unsafe situation I doubt they would give me time to alert somebody that I needed assistance. I then thought of being able to just pull the headphones from their socket because that would be something I would be able to do in such a situation. I researched the market but there was nothing like it available hence why I had Safe Runner developed.
