SAFF Championship 2013: Nepal VS Afghanistan at 6:30 pm (Nepal) ****************************************** Nepal and Afghanistan will take on each other in the first semi-final match of the SAFF Championship 2013 on at Dasharath Stadium in the capital on Sunday evening. The match is crucial for both teams as the winner of today’s match will directly advance to the final of the Championship. “We are confident about winning the match against Afghanistan.” said Nepali captain Sagar Thapa. “The team will play for the title dedicating it to the Nepali football fans.” He said that this is their good chance to take revenge as the home team had been beaten by Afghanistan in SAFF 2011. Nepal had played against Afghanistan in the semifinal in the 2011 SAFF Championship as well. Afghanistan had defeated Nepal, 1-0, scoring a goal in the extra time after the match was ended in a goalless draw. Similarly, Nepali head coach Jack Stefanowski also expressed that the team is ready for the semi-final clash with Afghanistan. Nepali team is overwhelm to enter the final beating Afghanistan, said Stefanowski. Nepali fans began lining up for tickets to today’s match as early as 5am. The counter opened at 8 in the morning and the tickets were sold out within an hour.
