SALT OF LIFE (concluding part) Salt preserves and heals. As a preservative, it will save, maintain and conserve whatever it is applied on from perishing. As a healing mystery, it healed the barren land and bitter water of Jericho. The declaration of God upon us as the salt of the earth gives us the responsibility to be determined to preserve the nations in and around us. This will require your determination to deny yourself and give attention to the people around you. However, our major limitation in this contemporary days is that we are not ready to deny our self for the honour of God and his Gospel. Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall loose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospels the same shall save it David was anointed to be king but he could not possess his throne immediately because another king was in possession of it. Instead of defending or fighting for himself to gain the throne, he decided to respect the rejected king, sought refuge from God and used his life to preserve the wasting generation around him- the distressed, the discontented and indebted ones. And everyone that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and everyone that was discontented gathered themselves unto David, and he became a captain over them 1Samuel 22:2 The above set of people later became the mighty men of David that conquered territories, kingdoms, giants, nations and even protected David when he became weak. There transformation was not a magic, rather the manifestation of the saltiness in the life of their captain. David, a captain who chose to deny a self seeking desire to get the throne when it is yet to be released to him by God but gave his life as a salt to heal and preserve the destinies of the dejected. Lord, we need more of Davids . Prayer: Lord, give us to live for you and die to self. Let our lives be relevant towards the salvation and fruitfulness of many lives. Amen Do have a great weekend!
