SAMBURULEAKS UPDATE.. SNR..Samburu National Reserve the goose that laid the golden eggs for ages, now is at the centre of conflict between the pastoralist samburu herders and the county government. Morans have forcefully grazed hundreds of their cattle into the heart of the park ignoring the call by the rangers to quit. Tourists had a had time yesterday to drive in and out , let alone the so called game drive that was reduced to a mere cattle ranch perambulation affair. The county government of Samburu has become too rich and forgetting the peanuts raised from the SNR ..just 150M is not a big deal considering the collosal amount syphoned automatically from Nairobi kenya. Tom Lolosoli in one of his comments said that the problem started when the cattle raid happened in the presence of the rangers and they did not bother... its a sort of a grudge. Now that Maralal wildlife sanctuary is dead through conspiracy and greed from the rich, should SNR follow the suit?? This is a honest call to our governor MK Lesopiroi, Jackson Lelenkeju the chairman and Peter Leshakwet the minister... kindly rescue the park by engaging the locals peacefully and consider sharing the millions to the communities bordering the SNR so that they know how sweet the fruits from the park are.
