SAMUEL AUGUSTUS AMMONS Samuel Augustus Ammons, 68, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at home, surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, December 23, at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church, directed by Richardson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM at the church. Mr. Ammons was born in Mullins, a son of the late Samuel Jones Tug Ammons and Judith Arlene Miller Ammons. He is also predeceased by a sister, Betty Jean Ammons. Mr. Ammons was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Vietnam, and would later serve in the National Guard. He was a machinist for Sara Lee Hosiery and member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Ann Ammons of the home; daughters: Debra Ammons of Mullins, April Lynn Ammons Todd (Chris ) of Mullins, Danna Bailey Vach (Jeff) of Atlanta, and Dottie Bailey Collins (Scott) of Marion; and six grandchildren: DuBree Ammons, Jeremy Vach, Scottie Collins, Joshua Vach, Karlee Todd, and Olivia Collins. The family would like to give a special thanks to Alicia Brown of Embrace Hospice. Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 3903 West Hwy 76, Marion, SC 29571.
