SAP Offers New Developers Tools and Contributes To Open Source Products SAP #TechEd 2013 was held in Bangalore, India from December 11th to 13th. During the event, SAP announced several key additions to its developer tools range and contributed to open source software. SAP River SAP River is the new development environment available as part of the new SAP HANA SP7 release. It is a real time development environment focused on developing native applications for the SAP HANA platform. The intention of SAP here is to decrease the development bottlenecks by providing an environment with easy to maintain source code and providing a native executable product for SAP HANA platform. An Open Source variation of #SAPUI5 – OpenUI5 In its drive to promote and integrate open source software in its framework, SAP has released important portions of its patented SAPUI5 at a GitHub website. The #software is available under Apache License Version 2.0. This is a reiteration of the SAP commitment to provide an efficient and consistent end-to-end user experience through reusable code. New connection between Cloud Foundry and SAP #HANA New code contribution at a GitHub now makes a service broker software connection possible between all Cloud Foundry applications and SAP HANA platform. This new service broker software component will enable all Cloud Foundry applications to take advantage of the in-memory capability of SAP HANA platform. A new Node.js connector for SAP HANA Now Node.js applications could directly connect to SAP HANA database through a new Node.js connector contributed by SAP at GitHub website. #SAP PowerBuilder in Closed Beta A new closed bets release of the SAP PowerBuilder platform was made ahead of its limited availability in December 2013. The new product will support new OS, database engines and software capabilities. Launch of a Unified #Developer License In order to make sure that the developers have easy access to its technologies and platforms, SAP has announced a new Unified Developer License.
