SATAN IS NOT A FACTOR 1John 4:4 Little children, you are of God - TopicsExpress

SATAN IS NOT A FACTOR 1John 4:4 Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world. (Amplified Bible) This verse makes me undertake spiritual somersaults of joy in my mind. The Greek word translated in the verse above is ‘teknon’ which refers to all who believe in Jesus Christ and acknowledge Him as their Lord and saviour. Therefore, little children in the 1John 4:4 above refers to all who are born again but are still ‘little’ in the Lord, in other words those who are baby Christians, spiritually immature. You might have been a Christian for 30 years or more and yet still be a baby Christian. It has nothing to do with your age. You might be very young and yet be spiritually mature. Therefore, we are being told that all of us who are born again are of God. We are the children of God. Just in case you were wondering whether or not you are a mature (huios in Greek) or baby (nepios in Greek) Christian; your answers to questions below are a good guide. Hebrews 5:12-13 For even though by this time you ought to be teaching others, you actually need someone to teach you over again the very first principles of God’s Word. You have come to need milk, not solid food.3 For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant (Greek nepios – baby Christian) [not able to talk yet]! (Amplified Bible) Question 1: Do you know the doctrine of righteousness? If not, you are definetly a baby Christian. Hebrews 6:1-3 Therefore let us go on and get past the elementary stage in the teachings and doctrine of Christ (the Messiah), advancing steadily toward the completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity. Let us not again be laying the foundation of repentance and abandonment of dead works (dead formalism) and of the faith [by which you turned] to God, With teachings about purifying, the laying on of hands, the resurrection from the dead, and eternal judgment and punishment. [These are all matters of which you should have been fully aware long, long ago.] If indeed God permits, we will [now] proceed [to advanced teaching]. If we are of God then it follows our nature is that of God. Since we are of God, we belong to God and we have already defeated and overcome the agents of the antichrist (satan and all his demons) because greater is He who lives in us than he who is in the world (1John 4:4). It is clear that our already accomplished victory over satan and his demons is premised on the greater power that lives in all who are born again. Who is this who lives in you? Colossians 1:27 and Ephesians 3:17 make it clear that the Holy Spirit comes to dwell, live in you when you are born again. The same Holy Spirit that made Mary (the mother of Jesus) pregnant as a virgin, and also resurrected Jesus from the grave (without anyone praying for Jesus to rise up from grave is in you. If you know it, if you are aware of it then surely you will know that satan and ALL his demons are not factors in your life. If that same power is at work in you how can you possibly be defeated by the weaker forces of satan and his demons? IMPOSSIBLE. Jesus publicly defeated satan (Colossians 2:15). 1John 5:4 says ‘For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith.’ The above verse makes it clear that we, who are born again are victorious over all the challenges in this world. 2Corinthians 4:4 For satan, the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe,................(New Living Translation Bible) It follows then if we have already overcome the world then we have also clearly overcome satan who is the god of this world. No wonder the Bible says in Romans 8:37 ‘In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us’. Notice the Christian life starts from a position of having conquered already. The Christian life is a victorious life. It is not a life of struggle. It is an easy life powered by the Holy Spirit that is at work in us and increases grace and/or anointing in our lives as we receive more revelation of the truth contained in God’s Word. Colossians 1:12-13 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, (New King James Bible) If you do not know that one of the benefits the moment you were born again was to be supernaturally delivered from kingdom of darkness (satan’s kingdom) by the power of the Holy Spirit then you will be seeking ‘deliverance’ everywhere and there is no shortage of deliverance ministers. You will be seeking what is already yours but you are not aware of it. satan will toss you left right and centre and devils are always being cast out of you, you live a life devoid of continuous joy and victory. You are a baby Christian, unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness. No wonder the Bible makes it clear that God’s children perish for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6) and not devils.
