SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21 - 9:00pm WHISKEY JACK (unplugged) Since 1977, Whiskey Jack has become the most celebrated Roots / Country / Bluegrass band in Canadian music history, with: Four critically acclaimed recordings Nationally charted radio hits Juno and Country Music Awards nominations The band toured Canada extensively between 1979 and 1987, appearing at festivals and concerts from coast to coast. As well as being regular guests of Morningside and Variety Tonight on CBC Radio, they were stars of The Tommy Hunter Show on CBC TV in the 1980s, and made numerous appearances on such shows asThe Alan Thicke Show, Fire on the Mountain, Ralph Emory, and The Nashville Network, thus earning them the description of the most televised bluegrass/ acoustic country band in Canada. They recorded and toured with the likes of fiddlers Al Cherny and Graham Townsend as well as country legend Mac Wiseman. In 1993, Stompin Tom Connors teamed with Whiskey Jack to record one of his come-back albums, Dr. Stompin Tom Connors eh? followed by a triumphant national tour. 2004 saw them on the road again with this Canadian icon. The tour culminated in a sold-out show at Massey Hall, and an unprecedented performance on the Conan OBrien Show.
