SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2009 Hydrophilic non-ionic Softener "CITISOFT NIS-EXTRA" Citilsoft NIS Extra is a specialty hydrophilic non-ionic softener designed for a wide range of Synthetic and natural fibers. It is noted for non-yellowing properties and is suitable for optically whitened substrates. - Suitable for dyed, printed or optically brightened (whitened) textile. - Superb surface smoothness and full feel imparted to cellulose and polyester cellulose blended yarns and fabrics. - Resists yellowing at all usual processing temperatures. - Does not increase the propensity of substrate to subsequent soiling. - Can be used alongside citimalose TM in antisoiling finishes for polyester-containing substrates. - Leaves cellulosic-containing substrates as absorbent as they were before treatment. - Does not affect the shade or fastness of colours. - Minimizes sewing damage during fabric make-up. - Excellent soft handle conferred to 100% polyester georgette without causing seam slippage problem. - Confers excellent fiber-metal lubricity. - Leaves substrate absorbency unaffected USAGE PROFILE SUBSTRATE Acrylics Wool Polyimide Polyester Cotton Blends -/ -/ -/ -/ -/ -/ EQUIPMENT PROCESSES Jet Beam Winch Jig Yarn Hanks Stock Continuous -/ -/ -/ -/ -/ -/ -/ -/ PROPERTIES. Type Non-ionic. Constitution Blend of non-ionic surfactant and fatty acid esters Appearance White / off-white flow able liquid. PH 6 – 8 Solubility Forms stable emulsion in warm water. Compatibility Compatible with all resins, catalysts and silicones. Stable to anionic, cationic and non-ionic products. Recommended Application/ Recipes. Soft Finishing. For normal softening of celluloses and Synthetic-Celluloses blends, pad through: Citisoft NIS Extra 5-15g/I Followed by normal drying procedure. 2. Soft finishing with body for 100% Polyester Georgette. Pad fabric through: Citisoft NIS Extra 5-15g/I Citinine SME 10-20 G/I Dry and cure as normal, 3. Softened resin finishes (e.g. 65/35 polyester-cotton). To water add: Citinine G C 30-60 g/I (Ultra low formaldehyde resin) Magnesium chloride 15% Hex hydrate of resin Citisoft NIS Extra 10-15 g/I Pad through the above liquor, dry at 110 oC and cure for between 30 seconds and 2 minutes at temperatures between 150 oC and 180 oC respectively.
