SATURDAY MORNING IN PUROK BANGKAL It is an overcast and windy Saturday morning here in Purok Bangkal and my journey with this community continues. Early this morning I stood as one of the sponsors in the wedding of Irene, older sister of our IRC 4th year high school scholar Sheila which was held in the Old Sagay Catholic Church. The wedding started promptly at 6 AM and I realized as I participated and witnessed the formal union of these two young people that my ties to this community has become even deeper. I have established relationships that I know will continue to bring me much joy even as I see myself as being part of Purok Bangkals unfolding bright future. IRC Sagay is working to see transformed lives in this needy community of famers and fisherfolk according to our five fold advocacy namely: values formation, social entrepreneurship, education, health and partnership development. We are sowing good seed as we patiently labor, assured that we will see a good harvest. It is a Saturday morning and we are touching lives...only by the grace of God.
