SATURDAY NIGHT TOPIC. Please comment with your opinion below ! 3 week BIN COLLECTION. PLEASE READ ! consultation Gwynedd Council style. Over 2,000 people responded to the questionnaire on recycling and moving to rubbish bins being emptied every 3 weeks; over half of those who responded said they were against the idea. So the Plaid Cymru Cabinet (bar one Labour member) have approved the move which will now go to Full Council for a debate and democratic vote. I will definitely be voting AGAINST this proposal as it will be an unmitigated disaster. Why are we even contemplating this when some local authorities in England have admitted they got it wrong and gone back to weekly rubbish collections? Bangor , will be effected more so than other areas of the County with many houses being HMOs and already struggling with collections every 2 weeks. I really hope members will vote on behalf of their COMMUNITIES who I believe couldnt cope with 3 week collections. What are your thoughts ? I am keen to receive feedback from my constituents and Bangorians in general. Please lobby your County councillor. If this goes through Council and I hope it doesnt then the public of the City might have to take to the streets in form of a protest !
