SATURDAY — DECEMBER 13, 2014 — MASON, MA — Public meeting regarding proposed southern NH gas pipeline. Join us to learn about a proposed natural gas pipeline and how it can affect you. The 36-inch diameter pipeline would cross the towns of Winchester, Fitzwilliam, Rindge, New Ipswich, Greenville, and Mason, just touch Wilton, Brookline, and Amherst, then continue across the Merrimack River into Londonderry, Windham, and Pelham. Presentations will describe the pipeline and the proposed route, talk about the approval process, and tell what you can do about all this. Speakers will include representatives of New Hampshire Pipeline Awareness and the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund. A 20-minute film will show what it’s like to have a compressor station as a neighbor Studies show the capacity of this pipeline would be much greater than NH’s projected energy needs. The excess is destined for export. This does NOT mean cheap natural gas for the local market. And whether it is in your backyard or not, you will pay for this export pipeline through a tariff on your electric bill. The meeting, presented by 350 New Hampshire, is free and open to the public. Residents of any affected town are invited. Please reply to nhpipeline@gmail to let us know how many will be attending to help ensure adequate seating. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m Mason Elementary School, 13 Darling Hill Road (on Route 123) Mason, NH For more information about Northeast Energy Direct in New Hampshire, visit nhpipelineawareness.org/
