SAVE YOUR PIONEER DRIVE-IN! VOTE NOW! This Honda sponsored project is a must-need to save The Pioneer Drive-In on Route 8 in Butler! About the project: In less than 3 months, the majority of American drive-in theaters will face closure with the movie industry’s switch from film to digital. Upgrading to digital projection costs roughly $80,000. We want to preserve this iconic part of American car culture. So we’re taking the first step by starting a drive-in fund and donating 5 digital projectors. Your vote decides where they go. GO VOTE FOR THE PIONEER DRIVE-IN! Route 8 North Butler, PA 16001 | Text Vote120 to 444999 The Pioneer Drive-In Theatre is located north of Butler Pennsylvania on Route 8 in Center Township. The Pioneer was built in 1958 and boasts 5 screens with 35MM projection and radio sound. Our guest travel from as far away as New Castle, Grove City and Pittsburg to watch first run Hollywood films with second features. The Pioneer has opened each summer for the past 55 years. The drive-in is operated by the family of the original owner and a dedicated local staff. The cost to convert to digital and open for the 2014 season is well over $350,000. With your help one projector from Honda would be a great start. All of us at the Pioneer are truly grateful for your votes and to Honda for recognizing the significance of the American Drive-In.
