SAVIOUR SUIT: one of the projects on display at IITF 2014… Saviour Suit is a wearable sonic device used for incapacitating an attacker without causing serious or permanent injury. It can be used as a deterrent to temporarily disable the attacker and provide a window of opportunity to escape to safety. The suit comes with a complimentary mobile application which using Cloud Computing automatically sends messages to the relatives, emergency health centres and to the police authority asking them to come to the rescue of the victim. Saviour Suit app features the X-zone feature which alerts women about the routes that are rated unsafe by the other users and Government and also gives notifications of latest laws and topics related to women empowerment. The user’s phone is connected to device via Bluetooth. Using cloud computing, message alerts are sent to all pre-defined emergency contacts. GPS location tracking is also made available. Many other interesting projects developed by students of Manav Rachna will be on display at IITF 2014. This year, the theme of IITF 2014 is ‘Women Entrepreneurs’, which will be figured prominently in the display. Keep watching this space for details.
