SAY NO MORE “I am unworthy—how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth. I spoke once, but I have no answer— twice, but I will say no more.” -Job 40:4-5 Who hasnt wanted to shake his/her fist at God and scream WHY? In the midst of suffering... And even the worst, we questioned God... and these questions wrack our thought and challenge our faith. How can a loving God so allow such pain? Job suffered terribly...then questioned God boldly, protesting that He didnt deserve such suffering and lost. Friend alongside him offered unhelpful explanations. Job questioned and God answered him with amazing and unfathomable question. God challenge him with questions that reveals Jobs limitations. Job does not have the power like God... His splendor, His glory, His sovereignity. Job is merely human. Job began to understand and bowed in silence to the Creator saying I am unworthy.... I will say no more. (Job40:4-5) But notice something else. God loved Job enough to be with him in His suffering- that all made all the difference. Job didnt need to ask question or the specifics, he finally rested on the truth that GOD is GOD...and that is enough. Sometimes when we reach the end of ourselves, when we reach the end of our tears and the rage and the questions, when we are quiet, we hear Him say, I am God. I am here. - excerpt from NIV Women Devotion
