SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT A MATE Next up is Zoe Bailey - About 20 years ago now I was lucky enough to be the Customer Service Manager for North West Cable (Now Virgin Media). At that time the business was growing at a frightening speed , having 600 new customers a day was not unusual. We knew that our recruitment had to keep pace with this growth. However we pledged that despite being pressured for numbers we would not appoint anybody without making certain they were correct for our challenge. One day Zoe Bailey walked into my office and my first impression were of an extremely well presented you lady, at that point everything seemed good. However for some reason unknown to myself Zoe came over as being a little shy,and I later described her as A WALL FLOWER !!.I decided that she was not suitable and issued a Dear John letter. HOW WRONG CAN A MAN BE!! very shortly after that I received a letter From Zoe telling me in no uncertain terms I was wrong. Now I like a fighting spirit so I asked her to come back for a second interview and with renewed energy she got the job. How do I describe Zoe ? Zoe is first and for most a calm individual with a great sense of team. I soon found out there was no task that Zoe could not complete. All three key skills were there - Team Player , Computer System and Customers. The best thing about Zoe is she has these dark eyes that lock onto you when she is arguing a point just like a tractor beam and she does not give up that stare until she has made her point, and that you agree she is correct!!!!! Descriptive words include SMART (dress sense & brain) POPULAR , OUTGOING, INTELLIGENT, WITTY, and above all a great friend. Sorry Zoe I got you wrong first time.
