SB 76 is alive and well in the Senate and will be fine tuned over the next several weeks in anticipation of action in the Senate Finance Committee. In the meantime, the SB 76 prime sponsors have asked us to immediately perform one very important task that will help to keep co-sponsorship strong and attract new co-sponsors. Please contact current Senate co-sponsors to thank them for their help and to encourage them to stay strong in their support of HB 76, the Property Tax Independence Act. Please contact non-co-sponsors to request their support and co-sponsorship; it would be helpful if you explain to them why SB 76 is important to you. It is VITAL that your contacts with them are courteous, respectful, and non-threatening. We are trying to gain allies and not opponents!
