SB: (Courtesy to Jeff Webster) Congratulations to the Perry softball team for their 5-2 win, in nine inning, over Winterset Monday! Lindsey Kunchs two-run double in the top of seventh forced extra innings. In the ninth, two Winterset errors put two Perry players on base, with a sac fly from Kunch driving in a run. Julie Diws RBI double and a run-scoring ground out from Kylie Brandt capped the scoring. Emma Olejniczak retired nine of the final 10 batters she faced to secure the victory from the ring. The victory snaps a 27-game losing skid to the Huskies, a streak during which Perry was outscored by a combined 211-10! Perry, which belted 13 hits and and played error-free defense, is now 13-8 overall and already has their most wins in a season in a decade. Great job ladies!
