SB869 & SB2464 (with amendment) have PASSED S&L Gov committee today. Please send all committee members a thank you note for their unanimous vote. Also please send special thank you notes to Senator Rusty Crowe and Bo Watson for their outstanding presentations. They both did a stellar job. I met with both of them before and after committee and thanked them personally for all TAFA members. They asked me to tell you that they are both very committed to passing these bills on the floor. Also please keep in mind there is no such thing as either or bills. We at TAFA are supporting the passage of annexation by referendum. All sponsors are on all bills and we are all working collectively together to pass one bill: Annexation by referendum for the people of this state. This is what this movement is about and nothing else. This is the peoples movement for reform. This is an election year and it is very important to make sure that these sponsors are recognized in their districts for the stellar job that they did on this. Both of them stood up to their mayors and defended your right to vote. He has taken a lot of hits for us from his city mayor and we need to let him know that we will stand by him and support him in his reelection. He is an important senator and since both bills will essentially be the same and are being run by the same people together it is extremely important to make sure that Senator Crowe knows we will help him and support him.
