SCBA Representation to CJI on use of F Gate by Lawyers: Respected Chief Justice, 1. A simple request is made by Supreme Court Bar Association that Gate ‘F’ from where all employees of Supreme Court enter may be allowed to be used by the Members of the SCBA to whom proximity card have been issued by the Supreme Court, after necessary security check. 2. Today, also they enter the High Security area from other gates. They also are entitled to enter court rooms. 3. This request is rejected on the ground of security, but there appear no valid security reasons. 4. A clerk and a peon working in the Supreme Court can enter from Gate-‘F’ without any security concern, but a member of Supreme Court Bar Association who has been given proximity card and therefore entitled to enter high security area as well as court rooms and who is ready to be subjected to necessary security checks as is done when they enter from other gates are denied their entry from gate ‘F.’ 5. The reason why they want to enter through Gate ‘F’ is that they come from Metro Station and otherwise they are required to travel on foot for a long distance, in bad Delhi weather. 6. I request Your Lordship to kindly intervene and find out what are the security concerns in respect of these members of SCBA who everyday enter High Security Area. 7. Your Lordship may call for the file and if necessary, call a meeting of security personnel and the office bearers of the SCBA so that if there is any genuine security concern, we can certainly discuss and find out a solution.
