SCHWEITZER/SALUD UNPAID INTERNSHIP Unpaid Internship with the Schweitzer Fellowship/SALUD (Students and Latinos United against Disparities). The Schweitzer Fellowship, in collaboration with Birmingham Clinic and SALUD (Students and Latinos United against Disparities), is seeking 1-2 law student interns who are fluent in Spanish. The Schweitzer Fellowship is seeking to improve the longitudinal healthcare outcomes of the Spanish-speaking population of Pittsburgh by educating them on various health practices and following up with them outside of their routine visits at SALUD. Part of this project is to help improve the quality of life of the Hispanic population, including assisting them with immigration services. The Legal Intern’s main responsibility will be to gather legal information on immigration services for patients, and to assist with translation. The meetings could occur one on one or in a larger setting, and will mainly occur at the Birmingham Clinic on the Southside of Pittsburgh. Anticipated Start Date: June 15. Job location: Birmingham Clinic on the Southside; many duties may be performed remotely.
