SCL Phenoms: Jake Mendez vs Randy Rowland in a 145lb fight. Rowland comes our looking to strike. Mendez clinches. Its Rowland who hits a takedown. The fighters work back up and Rowland lands a knee to the body as they separate. Both fighters throw and Mendez gets a couple punches through. An inadvertent groin strike by Rowland halts the action. On the restart Rowland slips and Mendez capitalizes by finishing the round on top. Round 2 starts with a lunging body punch by Rowland as he closes the distance and pushes Mendez into the cage. He pushes Rowland off and throws heavy punches. They exchange and Rowland snaps back the head of Mendez with a 1-2. Mendez clinches and the rest of the round is spent jocking for position against the cage. Round 3, Mendez steps in using his jab. Rowland looks to throw combinations. Mendez clinches and the fighters trade knees to the midsection. Rowland spends some time pressing his opponent against the cage possibly looking for a takedown. Mendez explodes and drives Rowland across the cage into the fence. Rowland reverses the position and throws some punches as the fight comes to a close. The judges all scored the fight 30-27 for Randy Rowland
