SCOTLAND---DID NOT GO SCOTFREE In a historic decision Scotland voted in favour of remaining in the United Kingdom and against becoming independent country. Scotland joined U.K by passing Act of Union in 1707. For HM Queen Elizabeth and PM David Cameron it was a moment of reckoning as both would not have liked to go down in history as English leaders who presided over the dissolution of 300-year old U.K. Cameron said: “It would have broken my heart to see our United Kingdom come to an end.” Even celebs like Sean Connery and Andy Murray, both Scottish, strongly pitched for independence. The people proved to be wiser. While Northern Ireland freedom movement was violent under Jerry Adams, Scottish campaign was peaceful and final decision was democratic. Raise your glass of Scotch whiskey as a toast to the wise people of Scotland for keeping up the bonds of centuries!!! This is, in deed, a lesson in statesmanship for people of Quebec in Canada and Kashmir in India.
