SCREEEEEECH! Even though it isnt a fountain I had to share my discovery this morning. Because of seeing all the Monarch posts, I bought several milkweed plants this summer to support the Monarchs that have been visiting us. (They are really attracted by our fountains as much as the flowers.) I noticed that our seeds had opened and was going to collect them when I saw what I believe are eggs under many of the leaves. I looked closer, and holy cow...... there was my first Cat! I found two. Now Im worrying about how I can help them survive. I cant find anything about So. California specifically. These must be 3rd generation I think. I got another much larger milkweed 2 weeks ago that I was going to plant in the front yard but now Im thinking it should go back next to these. Help! Im SO excited that you all have made me slow down and notice the tiny details in nature! (Could also have something to do with retiring this summer:)) Im in Whittier California and I know that some of our butterflies stay here. Give me some help experts. PS if you look carefully in the seed pic, you will see in the center my second smaller Cat!
