SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK Proverbs 18:21 “Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Jesus understood the power of His words. He spoke to a fig tree and it obeyed Him. He spoke to a man who had been dead for four days and he obeyed Him. God watches over His word to perform it. We need to line up our tongues with the life God has designed for us. Understanding the power of words is key to our destiny. Proverbs 18:20 states that – “A man’s belief shall be satisfied with the fruit of His mouth and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.” All increase comes by the tongue, by the words we speak. Words can also be the trigger for negative life experiences. Proverbs 10:11 states that – “The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life, but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.” The connection between our words and our lives is abundantly clear from these passages, the ability to exert power through speech. You can change your future by changing your words.
