SCRIPTURE READING: NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION(NIV) ISAIAH 38:1-6, 21-22, 7-7 MATTHEW 12:1-8 Today we are treated with the awesome display of Gods might. We see that God is Lord of life and death, able to end or extend life as He wishes. Next we see God is Lord of nature and time, able to reverse the spin of the earth and turn back the clock. Finally we see that God Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, above all religious and secular laws. He then is Lord of EVERYTHING. The Lord says, I desire mercy, not sacrifice. Our sacrificial donations and self-denials please God as signs of our gratitude. But as the creator and Owner of everything, He does not need anything that we can give. What God does want is us - He loves us. He would love to have us come to Him in repentance and desire for reconciliation. More than anything, God would love to show His mercy and forgiveness. He waits for us to accept His love and offer it to others. Let us offer our Yes to the Lord.
