SEA student Hangs himself Trinidad and Tobago Newsday news dated Friday May 9, 2014 stated: A source close to the family told Newsday Devindra was under extreme pressure to pass for a good school and had been kept back for another year in a lower standard to give him time to improve his grades before sitting the SEA exam. Questions: 1. Do we put to much pressure on how children when it comes to exams? 2. Do we put to much pressure when it comes to passing for a good school? 3.What is a good school 4.What are some of the yardsticks in selecting a good school? 5. What if they pass for a bad school? 6. What happens to them then? 7.Does good school bad school define there progress and end results in life? HMMMMMMMMMMMMM I went to a Secondary school considered as a bad school got all my passes, written 22 books, publish 2, became a double National award winner and many more achievements and still achieving and would continue to achieve phenomenal things. If i was to listen to society, then i should have been a bad product doing bad things Then we ask ourselves why in government Secondary schools such as Marabella South secondary School etc do bad? Its the mindset we create that wants you dont pass for Queens Royal College, Presentation College and those prestige schools, you are consider failures before you even begin. We are training our youths to be divided with that kind of mentality and creating the same first class, second class, third class brainwash mentality. We have to be very careful what we fill our children heads with, because that suicide was a clear indicator of where we are heading with that kind of mentality. RIP Devindra Boodoo and condolences goes out to his family, friends and relatives.
