SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT. GEN 12:1-4, 2 TIM 1:8-10, MATT 17:1-9. In the first reading, Abram is challenged by his maker to leave his homeland, his people and his father Terahs house to an unknow distination at the age of 75.How direct and definite this command yet this man of faith made no question to God rather obey. Not knowing what the future hopes for him leave his source of happiness, joy, satisfaction and security plus relationship to embrace what seems humanly impossible.I trust that the obedience of this man of faith is worth emulating. How many Christians are ready to leave their comfort zones and pleasures for an unknown (cf Mk 10:28, Mtt 19:27ff, Lk 18:28-30 --Peter asked Jesus we have left everything. .....?)Of all the wrong mission and calls, Abram identified the true mission of God and obeyed.let us learn from Abram. St.Paul caution us by using himself to teach us lessons, that we should be bold and brave to witness to the course of Jesus because he has called us to holiness. In brief the gospel offers us another opportunity for three to witness the glory and beauty of the Messiah. Dear friends, the actual beauty, glory and composition of who we really are is shredded within us as human beings; it is our closeness to Jesus and prayer that can only surface this glory.Like Moses and Elijah their glory was revealed when they encountered God on Mount Horeb/Hemon (Ex 34:29ff)Beloved your particular beauty is imminent and it could be revealed only through prayer and not creams or cosmetics or pomedes or expensive cloths, nails, Brazilian hair or other applications. I pray that through your encounter with Jesus whom you must obey and listen to you realize your own glory and beauty.Amen.Prayer is the key to all success in life.Be transfigured today.Peace n Joy.
