****SECOND TIME IS NOT A CHARM**** Once upon a time Chocolate’s future looked bright, showing all the promise in the world. Chocolate was one of the lucky dogs who was adopted from the Brooklyn ACC when he was only 5-months old. Chocolate lived with his adoptive family for almost 6 years! He didn’t live a life of luxury mind you but he felt secure. Chocolate has a history of getting along nicely with people of all ages although he is somewhat hyper when strangers come to the door. Chocolate’s previous family never bothered to socialize him around other dogs or cats, so today, Chocolate is very “reactive” to stranger dogs. Chocolate may be one of those dogs who feels trapped when he’s on a leash, feeling as though he has no means of escape. Chocolate never enjoyed moist dog food, so he was a little resistant to being pushed out of his prized bowl of food. Surely a bit of leash aggression and food hoarding shouldn’t be reasons to kill a dog tomorrow but that is likely to be the result for poor Chocolate. Please speak out on Chocolate’s behalf so that a new home is available to him in time.
