SECURITY ALERT (FLUSHING and JAMAICA, QUEENS, NEW YORK) On Sunday, 26 October 2014, a man who threatened a security guard at New York Hospital with a boxcutter was shot dead by police officers in Flushing, Queens, New York: Channel 7 Online: 7online/news/nypd-officer-shoots-box-cutter-wielding-suspect-in-queens/366248/ The chain of events is currently under investigation. This attack took place three days after a discharged Naval Officer seeming to sympathize with radical Islamist movements, identified as Zale Thompson, attacked four New York City Police Officers with an 18.5 inch hatchet in Jamaica, Queens. One of the officers suffered slashes to the arm, and another a critical strike to the head, before Thompson was struck down by gunfire by the remaining two officers.
