SECURITY MATTERS IN MANDERA Mandera County leaders led by Governor Ali Roba held a consultative forum in a Kwale hotel to address insecurity in the county and along the common borders. The county leadership plans to absorb 127 police reservists who will be paid Sh7,500 per month to motivate them effective from December 1. This comes in a week when the county advertised for 121 Enforcement Officer’s position including the supervisors of the team. The officers will supplement police efforts to fight banditry and other security threats. “The 127 reservists will be absorbed into some sort of employment with effect from December 1. We are also in the process of recruiting some vigilante youth teams for the purposes of human intelligence sharing,” Roba said while addressing County and National leaders from Mandera during the weekend. In attendance are local Mps, Senator, Industrialization and Enterprise development Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohamed and County Executive Committee members. The forum was officially concluded yesterday.
