SEDER MEAL AT ST. JOSEPH’S: on Thursday April 10, 2014 at 4:30 pm. Jesus instituted the Mass we celebrate every day when he celebrated the Passover meal with his disciples. Our Seder Meal will consist of symbolic foods: haroshes (apples, honey and walnuts to remind us of mortar used when the Isrealites were in slavery in Egypt) , maror / bitter herbs dipped in salt water (to remind us of the bitterness of the times), karpas / greens (to remind us of new life, spring), matzoh (unleavened bread to be eaten because the Isrealites were to leave Egypt in haste), a green salad, chicken (in place of the lamb) and rice salad and grape soda (in place of wine). We will read the story of the Passover and sing and pray together. Meal will begin at 4:45 pm on Thursday April 10, 2014. Anyone preparing for confirmation and participating please arrive no later than 4:30 pm. Cost is $7 per person or $20 per family.
