The widow of a hero firefighter who died with 18 others while battling a massive Arizona wildfire was denied the lifetime benefits she hoped would help her raise the couple’s four children. Juliann Ashcraft, 28, whose 29-year-old husband, Andrew, was among the Granite Mountain Hotshots members killed during the June 30 blaze, said she will receive workers’ compensation and a one-time federal payment of $328,000. But she was told that she is not entitled to the millions in lifetime salaries and health benefits because her husband was a seasonal employee, even though he worked 40 hours a week.
