SEE YOUR MATE AS GOD SEES HIM OR HER One of the underlying principles, which affects how we treat people is, our perception of them. If you see someone as a loser, failure, weak, boring, undeserving of your love and affection, you will treat him or her as such. On the contrary, if you have a wonderful perception about someone, it influences your attitude and behaviour towards such individual and this will inspire a positive response from the individual. The thing about intimacy is that it exposes our strength and weaknesses to our mate; thus, there is the tendency of focusing on those weaknesses neglecting the strength. However, God’s attitude and behaviour towards us are consistent with his perception of us. He always sees us lovable, valuable and competent; and that how he always sees your mate. Thus, you must advertently align your perception towards your mate with that of God. We make mistakes, we are not perfect; sometimes our human frailty becomes too obvious to ignore but love does not keep record of wrong or define others based on their shortcomings but based on their strength and what it expects to see in others. If you desire a loving, caring, respectful, wonderful and outstanding partner, reinforce that through your perception which would influence your attitude and behaviour towards him or her.
