SEED OF THE WEEK WEEP NOT “And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not” Luke 7:13 (KJV). Compassion is defined as a feeling of pity, sympathy and understanding for someone who is suffering/incapacitated, someone who lacked help/aid. Our Lord Jesus Christ is known for going all about doing good to all men and healing all manners of sickness/disease as found in Luke 7:12-14. At the city gate of the village called Nain in Luke chapter 7, the Lord met a burial procession involving a widow going to bury her only son. Jesus saw a lot of mourners, weeping and sorrowing with this woman. He saw helplessness and incapacitation. He saw the hope of the widow lying on the bier, ready for burial and something moved within Him . . . . . he had compassion on the woman. This woman enjoyed the intervention of God in form of compassion according to Romans 9:15 . . . I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. I perceived that God saw her helplessness and decided to wipe her tears away. If she had not ran into Jesus, her only hope in the only son would obviously have been buried that day. The Lord Jesus is most willing to wipe away our tears because he promised in Psalm 30:5 that “weeping may go on all night, but joy comes with the morning”. The word “morning” is a relative word that carries different timing for different people. What is certain however is that assuredly, there is a terminal point for all forms of weeping and sorrowing. PRAYER: I DECLARE BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE LIVING GOD THAT YOU WILL ALSO BE FOUND WORTHY TO ENJOY HIS COMPASSION IN THIS MONTH OF MARCH AND ALL FORMS OF WEEPING/SORROWING SHALL COME TO AN END IN JESUS NAME, AMEN. As you go in this week, by reminded that compassion is a vital attribute which every believer must share with God and which must be deployed on a daily basis as children of God in our bid to draw the attention of the dying world to the message of our Lord Jesus Christ. As you show compassion to others this week, may God wipe away all your tears as well in Jesus name, amen. Tolu & Bukola BISADE-PHILLIPS SOWERS INTERNATIONAL. MANDATE “The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it”. Psalm 68:11(KJV)
