SEEK DAILY (NBC), Friday, January 2 Matthew 6:25-34 DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR LIFE “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink …” Matthew 6:25, NIV Life is precious, so, it is a legitimate action to want to keep it secure. But Jesus told His disciples not to worry about their lives. Why? Because, firstly, worrying would sap their energy physically and make them waste away. Secondly, worrying has a way of consuming human energy without yielding any positive result. Worrying, also, wastes time. The time you will use in exploring other useful alternatives will be spent sulking and staring into space. Rather than worrying, spend the time to work on your life. Jesus mentioned those areas on which humans worry in life to include food, drink, physical fitness and clothing. Of all the creatures of God, humans are the only ones who worry endlessly on what God Himself can provide. Don’t be a worrywart this year, instead, trust God the more. Spend quality time praying, studying and working. Be busy doing something and you will keep worry at bay. Worry less; your life is in safe keeping with your Maker. • Birthday Blessing: “…My Spirit …and my words… will not depart from your mouth…” Isaiah 51:21 Read Bible Through Passage: Gen. 3, 4, 5; Matt. 2 Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength. - Corrie Ten Boom *********************** Meditations for the Day 02Jan2015 BIBLE VERSE FOR THE DAY “But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you” (Isaiah 43:1-2 NKJV). ******************* QUOTE FOR THE DAY God can bring us through situations we think we will not survive, or feel we will be stuck in forever. He can make us comfortable in the most uncomfortable places, and give us peace in the midst of any trauma. - Bob Gass
