SEEK DAILY (NBC) Monday, January 19 Zechariah 8:18-23 LET US SEEK GOD’S FAVOUR TOGETHER The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us continue to go and pray before the LORD, and seek the LORD of hosts. I myself will go also. Zechariah 8:21, NKJV People go on pilgrimage to Jerusalem today mainly for tourism. A time is coming when Gentiles will seek the Lord, not for tourism, but to meet Him truly. It will be a time of Christ’s Kingdom on earth. Today’s passage highlights one of the prophecies of what we should expect during that period (Isaiah 2:1-4; Micah 4:1-5). As this scripture emphasises, these people were inhabitants of many cities; not just a few ignorant people. It speaks of a time when intelligent men and women will embrace the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ; when people from strong nations will be brought into the Kingdom, not by human persuasion but willingly. Ten men (verse 23) imply a large or complete number in Hebrew. They signify converts who came to seek the Lord of Hosts and to pray before Him because of what they could see in the lives of God’s people. They came to have communion with God for they saw His glory in the lives of His people. This is a model of lifestyle evangelism. My prayer today is that our lives will become magnets that will draw men and women around us to Jesus. May this be said to us too today: “Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.” • Birthday Blessing: I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8 Read Bible Through Passage: Gen. 45, 46; Matt. 13:44-58 Miracles begin within us and then affect our surroundings. - Reinhard Bonnke
