SEEK DAILY (NBC) Monday, June 10 Isaiah 1:10-17 FRUITLESS WORSHIP “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes! Cease to do evil”. Isaiah 1:16, AMP Prophet Isaiah was called at a time when the nation of Israel had reverted to a state of total apostasy. Temple worship and ritual observance had become mere ‘going through the motions.’ People attended temple services and brought a multitude of sacrifices to the Lord, but their hearts were far from God and their worship was hypocritical. Instead of lifting up “holy hands” in prayer, their hands were stained with blood because of their many sins, and God was sick of it! The situation in our own day is not too different as we have lots of activities and religious gymnastics going on without corresponding godly living among the people. We need to be reminded that God is not pleased with empty sacrifices but expects that our outward worship should be matched with purity of heart and acts, inward obedience, a broken heart, and a godly walk. Be reminded today that what you do is a reflection of who you are. Demonstrate godliness in all your acts. Prayer Point: Pray that you will demonstrate true godliness in your worship.
