SEEK DAILY (NBC) Monday, October 7 Genesis 11:27–32 A CHILDLESS WIFE But Sarai was barren; she had no child. Genesis 11:27-32, NKJV Childlessness is a traumatic experience for couples especially in Africa. This is because Africans see barrenness as a taboo and often put the blame on the wife. This belief has forced many wives out of their matrimonial homes and turned uncountable men to polygamists. According to the text read, the issue of childlessness began with Sarai who later became Sarah. Verse 34 of our text says, “Now Sarai was barren; she had no children.” Later events in the life of Sarai however proved that every challenge in the life of God’s children are for a purpose and is ultimately meant to glorify God. Are you childless or know of anyone who is? Rather than apportion blame, stigmatise or give them undue pressure, pray with and encourage them. God will glorify Himself over their situation.
