SEEK DAILY (NBC) Monday, September 23 Job 38:1-7 DARK COUNSEL LACKING KNOWLEDGE Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Job 38:2, NRSV When a young child with little experience or knowledge of life insults or even questions the wisdom of elderly ones and his/her parents or a student berates the knowledge of his/her teacher, it is regarded as an insult and an act of foolishness. All this however is nothing compared to Job’s accusations, questioning of God and His ways. Job probably felt that he knew enough of God and His ways to question Him or speak at will about His decisions. What is it that can make us question God? What do we know or have? What have our eyes seen or ears heard? In our struggles and challenges, at crossroads and point of tough decisions, even in our overjoyed state, we might be tempted to question God or try to decide for Him; forgetting He is the Almighty. Our limited human knowledge cannot decipher His ways. Any wisdom, advice or counsel that challenges the sovereignty of God is a dark counsel with no wisdom in it, avoid it. It is from the pit and kingdom of darkness. Read Bible Through Passage: Isa. 11, 12, 13; Galatians 1 ***********************
