SEEK DAILY (NBC) Saturday, September 7 Ephesians 4:17-24 CREATED IN THE LIKENESS OF GOD And put on the new nature, created after the likeness of God âŠ. Ephesians 4:24, RSV Todayâs devotion is on a prayer of Apostle Paul for the believers in Ephesus. The apostle prayed earnestly for the Ephesians to know God better, not merely knowing about God. He itemized certain deep attributes and great qualities of our God, which when we really understand will make our faith in Him, knowledge of Him and love for Him to soar rapidly. For Paul, the understanding we need of God will come when the spirit of wisdom and revelation works in our being. Already, this spirit is in our being since we are created in the likeness of God, but it is only when we allow our human spirit to be controlled by the Spirit of God that the divine nature in us will be activated. When we live for Christ in total obedience and trust, then our spirit is enabled to commune with the Spirit of God. The flesh is subdued and our creation in the likeness of God comes to limelight.
