SEEK DAILY (NBC) Thursday, January 1 Luke 10:1-11 GOD’S KINGDOM HAS COME NEAR Heal the sick who are there and tell them, “the Kingdom of God is near you.” Luke 10:9, NIV Welcome to 2015! We have the divine privilege of entering into a new year again! We bless God for that. Usually, at the beginning of the year, there is the tendency to anticipate what the year has in store. If you are, therefore, one of those people looking for a clue to the year, here it is: “A Year of Nearness of God’s Kingdom.” That the kingdom of God is nearer to us than when we first believed presupposes that believers should make themselves ready for the coming of the Lord more than before. We should also make it a priority to proclaim the gospel more than ever before this year so that those who are spiritually and physically sick can be healed and come to know the Lord too. Gospel proclamation is the major task God is giving us this year. Don’t say “I’m too young to preach;” Christ started preaching at twelve! Nor say “I’m too old;” Peter was old when he became a disciple! It may not be fun but it is fulfilling the Great Commission. So, go tell it to people of all colours, races, genders, religions and languages that “God’s Kingdom is very near than when we first believed.” Fear no man, accept no defeat and worry for nothing.
