SEEK DAILY (NBC), Thursday, January 22 Lamentations 3:52-58 YOU HEARD MY PLEA You have heard my voice: Do not hide Your ear from my sighing, from my cry for help. Lamentation 3:56, NKJV Our passage today presents a mixture of Jeremiah’s deep sorrow and complaint over what happened in the past as it concludes with radiant hope for the future. Jeremiah called upon the name of the Lord out of a low dungeon (depths of the pit). We must bear in mind that Jonah also got God’s attention while he was in the belly of the whale which he called the depths of the grave (Jonah 2:1-2). These were near-death experiences of life. Could God hear from the low dungeon? Yes, He could and He did: “You heard my voice…” (v. 56) God’s network is never busy. His line is ever available. If Jonah can reach God from the belly of a whale, there is hope for you and me today. There are times when it seems that God is silent. But His silence does not mean His denial. Sometimes, the problem may be with our sinful ways (Isaiah 59:1). Prayer is the pilgrim’s staff to walk with God. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7-8). So pray today, no matter where you may be, God will hear and answer. • Birthday Blessing: I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. Psalm 40:1 Read Bible Through Passage: Exodus 1, 2, 3; Matt. 15:1-28 God shapes the world by prayer. The more prayer there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil. - E. M. Bounds *********************** Meditations for the Day 22Jan2015 BIBLE VERSE FOR THE DAY “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:7-9 NKJV). ******************* QUOTE FOR THE DAY No matter what life may bring, nothing can remove us from the realm of God’s grace. - Joe Stowell
