SEEK DAILY (NBC) Thursday, March 27 Psalm 47:1-9 LOUD SONGS OF JOY Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. Psalm 47:1, NIV Songs of joy are difficult to sing when one is weary and disappointed. In most cases, the type of song we sing is determined by the situations we are passing through. Nevertheless, our knowledge of God gives us confidence to shout for joy, even when the situation is not palatable. It takes faith to sing praises to God in odd times! Today’s passage tells us why we need to praise God always. They include: i) the awe and greatness of God (v. 2) ii) He defines our inheritance as His children (v. 4a) iii) His presence and power are evident in our triumphal and joyful songs (v. 5). Does your situation determine your joy and songs of praise to God? The will of God is for you to thank Him in all things. Therefore, “shout to God with cries of joy” in all situations and at all times. Remember, “The joy of the LORD is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). The joy of the LORD will spring from your heart when He establishes His reign in your life (John 15:10-11). Raise your voice and sing loud songs of joy to your Maker. • Birthday Blessing: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry… Isaiah 51:1 Read Bible Through Passage: Joshua 1, 2; Luke 4:31-44 If I could write as I would about the goodness of God to me, the ink would boil in my pen! – Frances Ridley Havergal *********************** Endeavour to rebroadcast this devotional message to others on your contact list.
