SEEK DAILY (NBC), Tuesday, January 13 1 John 2:1–6 AN ADVOCATE WITH GOD …But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense — Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 1 John 2:1, NIV An advocate is a person who pleads for a cause or offers an argument in support of something. ‘Advocate’ is another word for lawyer or solicitor. In the Nigerian legal system, the highest title of honour a lawyer desires to be conferred with is the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). In the United Kingdom, they are called Queen’s Counsel (QC). They speak in law courts on behalf of their clients. Young lawyers dread to face SANs. Cases are won and lost, sometimes, merely by the appearance of SANs before the ruling judge. Beloved, you have someone higher than the highest SANs in Nigeria or their equivalent in the world as a child of God. It is true we struggle daily with sin and our adversary breaths punishment down our neck. Often, we are bothered by accusations from Satan. But we have an advocate in Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He speaks in our defence with His blood. And this is why God needs to declare you “discharged and acquitted.” To enjoy this privilege, accept Him as your Lord and your matters will be treated with unquestionable advocacy in heaven. • Birthday Blessing: There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus… Romans 8:1 Read Bible Through Passage: Gen. 31, 32; Matt. 10:24-42 Man sees your action, but God sees your motives. -Thomas Kempis *********************** Meditations for the Day 13Jan2015 BIBLE VERSE FOR THE DAY So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
