Ezra 4:12, 13b, NIV Cyrus, king of Persia, ruled with the fear of God and steadfastly worked in the interest of the Jews. Therefore, it was not possible for the enemies to instigate him against the Jews. They resorted to writing false petitions against the Jews to King Xerxes, the successor of Cyrus, but they did not succeed until Artaxerxes became king. The enemies made false accusations that the Jews were rebuilding the city instead of the temple. Thus, the Jews were presented as being disloyal and dangerous to the king and the provinces. This tactics is still in use today because the enemies of the church cannot do the evil they design against her unless they first give her a bad name. Are you one of those giving the church of God a bad name through your conduct, lifestyle and speech or spreading rumours and false accusations about the children of God?
